I was just talking about similar situation with a small group of adult students I teach on spiritual teachings. I told them how I went to doctor who wasn't my regular doctor for a sinus infection. My doctor was out of town. I told the doctor I was feeling down. My father had recently passed away. And he prescribed me anti-depressants. I never filled the prescription. I joined a grief support group instead. I was 39 years old, not 12. We talked about how quick so many doctors are to medicate than recommend therapy. yoga, diet or exercise. We live in a society where we should never feel bad.

So glad for the work you are doing now to help young people. Great piece. I hope many people read your story and share.
